Mixed Age Classes

All classes are mixed age, including children from birth up through kindergarten.  The mixed age format follows the recommendations of child development researchers - grouping children of a variety of ages because this fosters natural family style learning.  Each child participates at his or her own level in singing, moving, chanting, listening, watching, and exploring musical instruments.

The ten week session includes weekly, 45-minute classes with songs, rhythmic rhymes, movement, and instrument play. These activities are presented as informal, non-performance-oriented musical experiences--developmentally appropriate for children and easy for parents and caregivers--regardless of their own musical ability. Each family receives 2 CDs and a songbook of the semester's activities. New families also receive an informational DVD.
